Fake Nails That Look Like the Real Thing
75There are many problems today that women are facing with their nails. For some, their nails do not grow very fast. Others have weak and brittle nails. Some women have been so unfortunate to receive an injury to a finger that leaves them unable to grow a new nail. In some professions, women are required to have short nails. But what are they to do when they need long nails for a special occasion. In these cases, fake nails are the only option.
The invention of fake nails was pure ingenuity when a determined woman decided to put an end to the embarrassment caused by ugly, short and brittle nails. For some, it has been a nightmare to grow and protect a full set of
natural nails.
It was even worse if someone was a habitual nail biter.
It is for reasons like these that fake nails are all the rage among
women who are tired of stressing out over a broken nail.
Luckily, it is not hard now for anyone to get a beautiful set
of polished nails. There are lots of artificial nail applications in
various styles and designs that can bring elegance to your hands as well
as your overall appearance. This new trend has been accepted by many as
a substitute for polished natural nails. The acrylic nails look better
than what many womens' natural nails would look like. Plus they are
available in all metropolitan areas where there are salons and spas.
The nail tips come with different designs, styles and colors and are made of materials like fiber, linen, clear gel, fiberglass or acrylic. There are even designer fake nails that can be bought at department stores that are specifically designed for a particular occasion or dress. Those who are planning to put the artificial nails on top of their natural nails prefer to use the fiberglass type because of its natural look and stronger quality. However, gel nails come in two different types, light cured and regular. Light cured gel nails needs an ultraviolet light for their application while the regular gel nails can be placed on top of the natural nail with simple nail glue. Acrylic nails are the strongest and longest nails. They are thick and have an artificial look but appear as part of the nail after they are properly shaped.
Removing fake nails requires the use of a chemical nail remover such as acetone. The remover will dissolve the glue that holds the fake nail in place. Unfortunately this might cause discoloration of the real nails.
Artificial nails seem like an all around total solution for women everywhere, but they are extremely difficult to do at home. So the obvious drawback is that it can be quite expensive to get and maintain a full set of artificial nails. A manicurist is well trained so she will do the best to help you get your money's worth by doing a thorough application of the nails. Putting on the nails is not a tough job to do. The hard part is making the nails look natural. The nails are glued on top of the natural nail with a special solution. Proper precaution should be used as this solution can make your fingers stick together. After that, each nail must be shaped with a nail file. This takes time and skill because she need to be careful that she only files the artificial nail and not damage your nail bed. After that the nail must be buffered to smooth out the roughness. It cannot be too smooth because the nail polish won't stick on a slick nail. It should take 90 minutes and you will have a nice set of fake nails.
Regular usage of fake nails can promote fungal infections and can cause damage to your nail beds. For those who are using a fake toe nail on their toes should be aware of this. It is health concerns like these that can make going to the salon somewhat risky. Be sure to select a salon that practices good hygiene. Infections are troublesome, so an ounce of prevention can save you much frustration.
A word of caution, just because you now have strong nails doesn't mean that you are superwoman. You need to care for them just as you would if they were natural nails. Don't do things that might break them such as using them to open envelopes or packages. Keep in mind that you have longer nails and it can really hurt having one ripped off. If you fancy yourself as a handywoman then you have no business getting the fake nails. Tips for protecting them are easy to come by. While you don't need to wear gloves, you do need to practice just a little common sense. If you can do that, then you'll have wonderful time with your new nails.
