There are lots of people who have very oily skin. It can be quiet annoying because no matter how they often they wash their face, the problem of having oily skin does not disappear. If you are among the people who have oily skin a facial eye mask treatment might be just what you are looking for to solve your problem.

An eye mask treatment supplies moist heat to the skin and helps in removing deep-seated impurities. They are usually applied as a thick layer unlike facial masks. Usually facial packs are used on dry skin to provide moisture, but it can also be used for oily skin to keep it healthy. A sleep eye mask can offer more intense cleaning and provide your skin with essential minerals that are very crucial in maintaining a healthy complexion without making the skin dry and rough.

For oily skin you can create your own eye masks at home with the following ingredients:

2 tablespoons of ground oatmeal
1/2 tablespoon wheat germ oil
2 to 4 tablespoons of hot sage tea
1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed

By using these ingredients, you will be able to make your own facial pack. Before applying it you need to make sure your skin is thoroughly cleaned by using a pre-spa scrub. Then carefully mix the ingredients together and apply the mixture while it is still warm. After applying, relax for about 20 to 30 minutes and just leave the mixture on your face while the pack does its works.

For a dry and sensitive skin use the following ingredients:

1/2 small ripe avocado
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon carrot juice
1 tablespoon oat bran (fine)

First, cut the avocado in half and then remove the pit and the skin. Then mash it up using a fork. The next thing you have to do is to whip all the ingredients together in a small saucepan. Heat the mixture in a water bath until it is warm, but not too hot. Then you can start applying the pack on the skin while it is still warm.

For more comfort add German-chamomile oil. This calms the skin and it also relives redness and irritation. You may add 3 drops of this oil into the pack as needed. Most of the ingredients used are proven to have many benefits to the skin. Like the wheat-germ oil, this oil is very rich in vitamin A and E. It also fights free radicals and helps in healing blemishes. If added to sage tea it becomes more effective and seals in much needed moisture. Carrots are also very good in conditioning. It helps in conditioning stressed skin and in maintaining the skin' natural resilience. It is also commonly used to calm irritated and sunburned skin.

Avocado, on the other hand is very good for sensitive skin. A fresh avocado fruit has essential fatty acids and vitamins, which helps to regenerate the skin while they nourish, invigorate and restore uppermost layer. This then helps in protecting the skin from minor sun damage, chapping and even small wrinkles. Another important benefit of eating the avocado fruit is that it helps in repairing connective tissue from the inside out and prevents cell damage.

Homemade Herbal Eye Packs

Sometimes after long computer sessions, tired eyes need some soothing relief and an herbal eye pack is just the remedy. Alternating between a hot eye mask for sleeping as well as a cold gel eye mask will quickly ease strained eyes and can even relieve tension headaches. Making one at home is cheap and easy.

1. Start with breathable but sturdy fabric such as soft cotton or cheese cloth. You can find inexpensive folds at the fabric section of the local retail store. Just cut out a large enough square of the fabric so that it can hold the herbs and be folded several times as well as being long enough so that it covers the temples and eyes.

2. Fill the center with four parts of flaxseed and one part a mixture of dried herbs. Passion flower, chamomile and lavender are a good choice. For sinus relief try a pinch of eucalyptus. Scents that are stimulating and provide energy can be used such as mint or lemongrass. Simply roll the eye pack like a burrito and tie off the ends with knots or cotton twine.

3. The best way to prime your eye pack is to use a bamboo steamer. Simply set it inside for 10 minutes and it should be soft and hot. Allow it to cool for five minutes and apply. After fifteen minutes set it inside the freezer for ten minutes and reapply as a cold pack.

With these ingredients you can be sure that the homemade pack you are using is from natural products. You can also save some time and money instead of going to spa salons. If you are in search for natural homemade facial pack, this is definitely right for you.
